The JP Uniac Insurance Peewee B girls
The girls played one of very few games at home tonight in Mitchell against Lakeshore. The girls faced them Friday night in Lakeshore and came out with a 1-1 tie.
Tonights game both teams were eager for a different outcome.
Lakeshore got the first goal with 5 minutes left in the first. Then with 1:34 left with 4 on 4... right off the face-off Margaret McCarthy put us on the scoreboard. Andrea Kelly had two penalties in the first...her second penalty was just bad luck. She came out of the pentalty box and the puck was right there so she shoved her stick in the direction of the puck, but unfortunately she tripped someone in the process...it happens was too entertaining not to mention it!
An exciting second period saw lots of full ice action, with shots on both goalies. Kora Smith made fantastic glove saves.
The third period: We got a goal up with 4:27 left on the clock. McCarthy got her second of the night with an assist from Heather Ogilvie.
With 3:09 in the third they tied it up and again another goal with 2:20 left.
Great effort, was an exciting game to watch.
