The Mitchell Legion Br 182 Peewee LL team blanks Drayton
in a Penalty filled affair.
Mitchell came out of the gate on fire by putting the pressure to the visiting Drayton squad. Mitchell broke through with Ryan Hubbard putting in a rebound of a Payton Wood shot from the point putting the locals up 1-0. Wade Campbell would add another marker a minute later with a Bobby Orr style end to end rush to put Mitchell up 2-0.
The second period would continue be a penalty filled as both teams would take multiple penalties. Over half way through the period, Jaxon Hartwig would finish a beautiful tic-tac-toe play from Wood and Hubbard to put the LL’s up 3-0 and that’s how the period would end.
The a fast paced 3rd period, Campbell would put the game out of reach with a rebound put in from a Hartwig shot to make it 4-0. With Drayton pressing in the third, the boys kept them at bay giving goalies Joel Meinen and Ethan Dearing a combined shut out.
