Cyclones Tie Series With PeeWee AE's
The New Orleans Pizza PeeWee AE's travelled to Listowel on Tuesday for Game 2 of their OMHA Playdowns. The home team would come away with a 3-2 victory to even the six-point series at two points each.
Both teams would battle hard in the first period, but neither team would be able to find the back of the net.
The second period would see four goals scored, two from each side. Listowel would jump out to a two goal lead half through the frame with a pair of goals less than one minute apart. The Meteors would not give up though as Jack Miller would get his first of two on a sharp angled goal that would beat the Cyclone goalie along the ice. Assists on that goal would come from the sticks of Carter O'Brien and Blake Redfern. Three minutes later, Miller would tie the game as he would pick up a loose puck just over the opposition blue line, cut to the middle of the ice and beat the goalie to the glove side. Charlie Geiger and Hayden Nicholson would be awarded assists.
The third period would see many quality chances at both ends of the ice, but the only goal would come from a successful home team two on one break with a little over two minutes remaining.
Game 3 of the series will take place back in Mitchell on Sunday, January 20th.
