PeeWee AE's Win Regular Season Finale
The New Orleans Pizza PeeWee AE's concluded their regular season at home on Saturday night against their rival Listowel Cyclones. The home side would take the game 4-1 to finish the season with a 9-3-4 mark.
The only goal of the first period would come on an unassisted goal from Jack Van Loon. He would pick up a loose puck in his own end, rush the entire length of the ice and deposit one on the short side of the Cyclone goalie.
Listowel would battle back early in the second period as they would score on an odd-man rush to even the score at one. However before the end of the period the Meteors would restore their one goal margin as Jacob Dietrich would come into the offensive zone down the right side, cut hard to the slot and smartly beat the goalie to the glove side as the netminder went the opposite direction.
The third period would see two goals from the local side. The first coming on a hard wrist shot from the left face off circle from Charlie Geiger. Then Jack Miller would put the game out of reach as he would split the Listowel defence, come in on a breakaway, and wait the goalie out before sliding it into the back of the net to make the final 4-1.
Assists in the game would be awarded to Geiger, Van Loon, Hayden Nicholson, and Bryce Otten.
