Meteors Fall to Ice Dogs
The New Orleans Pizza PeeWee AE Meteors hosted the BCH Ice Dogs at the Monkton arena on Saturday evening. The teams would play an evenly matched game with the final score decided with just 2.7 seconds left on the clock as BCH would score the game winner.
The Meteors would open the scoring early in the first period with Grayson Yost getting an unassisted goal just over a minute into the game. Mitchell would hold off the Ice Dogs with good defensive play until four minutes into the second period when BCH would match the score. With five minutes left in the second period, the Meteors would answer back with Yost getting his second of the game after getting a hold of the puck on a pass from Ethan Meinen deep in the zone and firing a quick shot to beat the BCH goalie. BCH would then come back to tie the game at two on a power play goal late in the second.
BCH would again take the lead early in the third and the Meteors would get many chances to tie it up, but it would take until the final minutes of the game with their goalie pulled and an extra attacker on the ice to beat the BCH goalie. Noah Mann would fire the quick shot just after the face off with Yost getting the assist. BCH would manage to get a hold of the puck in the final seconds and score a buzzer beater to take the game with a final score of 4-3.
