PeeWee AE's Defeat St. Mary's To Head to Silver Stick Finals
For the second straight weekend, the New Orleans Pizza PeeWee AE Meteors will find themselves in a tournament final. This time, the Meteors defeated the St. Mary's Rock in the semi-final game of the Silver Stick Tournament in Collingwood to advance to the finals on Sunday against the Collingwood Blackhawks.

The Meteors and the Rock played a fast-paced and penalty free semi-final game. With 13 seconds to play in the first period, Noah Mann would get the Meteors on the board first with an amazing bar-down shot. Lucas Mahon and Grayson Yost would assist on the goal. The Meteors second goal would come at the half way point of the middle frame as Jack Miller would take a pass from Blake Redfern at the blue line and beat the St. Marys defence to go in alone. Miller would patiently wait for the goalie to move and then pick his corner for the goal. Strong fore-checking and good passing would create lots of chances for the Meteors in the third, and goalie Joel Meinen would come up with some big saves in the Meteors end. The Meteors would hold on to the 2-0 lead until the last 53 seconds of the game when St. Marys would pull their goalie and get a man advantage to cut the lead in half. Meinen would stand tall in net to hold out the last few seconds and the Meteors would take the win.

The final game on Sunday will bring excitement as the Meteors look for revenge for their 5-0 loss in round robin play against the Collingwood Blackhawks.
