Meteors Edge BCH To Advance To Tournament Final
The New Orleans Pizza PeeWee AE Meteors played a strong game in the semi-final round of the Mitchell PeeWee Tournament to edge rival BCH with a 2-1 score. The Meteors would start the game with strong defensive play, as early in the first period they would find themselves with two players in the penalty box, and would manage to kill off the 5 on 3 power play for BCH. The Meteors would get on the board with a buzzer beater goal by Ethan Meinen after good passing of the puck around the offensive zone. Noah Mann and Jacob Deitrich would assist on the goal.

The BCH IceDogs pressed on and would manage to tie the game at one with six seconds left in the second period. In the third, the action would keep fans on the edge of their seats as Mitchell had several good scoring chances early in the period. With nine minutes left on the clock, Mann would move the puck to Hayden Nicholson who would hustle over the blue line and fired a bullet to beat the goalie on his blocker side. The Meteors defensive squad of Nicholson, Blake Redfern, Grayson Yost, Lucas Mahon and Jack VanLoon along with goalie Keagan Meinen would shine again in the final minutes of the game as BCH pulled their goalie for the final two minutes and thirty seconds and would be shut down.

With the win, the AE Meteors will advance to the final game against South Huron on Sunday at 12:15.
