Peewee Reps Bounced in Silver Stick International
The Hoegy’s Farm Supply Meteor Peewee Reps competed in the Peewee ‘B’ International Silver Stick Finals held in Forest, Ontario this past weekend, but failed to advance to the playoff round after a 2-2 record in the round robin action.

The locals opened tournament play on Friday morning with a 3-0 win over the Nepean Raiders, winners of the Pembroke Regional.  Vincent Voros scored two goals for the Meteors, and Brayden Glauser added a single marker.  Lucas Roobroeck and James McCarthy earned assists in the win.

The Meteors then followed up with an exciting 5-4 comeback win over the Littleton Hawks, winners of the Westminster, Colorado Regional.  Winning 3-2, the Hawks appeared to score the tying goal with the Mitchell net off, and then gained momentum from that to pull ahead 4-3 in the third.  Defenseman Kellen Russwurm intercepted a pass, skated in and let go a rocket for the tying goal.  With three minutes remaining, Voros would complete the hat trick with the game-winning goal.  Jared Vosper added the other Mitchell goal, and assists were notched by Vosper, Rhett Terpstra, Caleb Templeman, and Jarrett Van Bakel.

Saturday morning brought the 8am matchup, and the locals dropped a 3-0 decision to the Wallaceburg Lakers, a finalist in the Watford Regional.  Wallaceburg led 1-0 after the first, but a couple of penalties and power play goals early in the second period and the locals simply could not catch up despite a big advantage in shots.

Next up early Saturday afternoon was the Watford champion Mooretown Flags, who ousted Mitchell from further advancing with a 5-2 win.  Templeman scored twice in the losing effort, with McCarthy and Josh French recording assists.
