Peewee Reps Capture Legion Championship in Lucknow
The Hoegy's Farm Supply Meteor Peewee Reps won the Legion Zone C-1 Peewee Tournament championship this past weekend in Lucknow, defeating Huron-Bruce (Lucknow-Ripley) in the final by a score of 3-0.  Hayden Beuermann posted the shutout for the Meteors, and the offense was paced by two goals from Vincent Voros and two assists from Lucas Roobroeck.  Brayden Glauser had the other marker, and Kellen Russwurm also had an assist.

The locals opened tournament play on Thursday evening at 8:30pm with a 5-1 victory over Goderich.  Kyle Mills and Josh French each had a goal and an assist in the effort.  Additional goals were scored by Glauser, Voros, and Jarrett Van Bakel.  Jared Vosper, Rhett Terpstra and goaltender Beuermann also had assists.
With no scheduled game for Friday, the Meteors resumed play on Saturday morning, squaring off against the Kincardine Kinucks who opened the scoring midway through the first period.  Mitchell responded back less than a minute later with two quick goals by Van Bakel and Glauser to take the lead and never relinquish it in an 8-2 win.  Voros netted a hat trick and an assist, and Caleb Templeman, James McCarthy, and Mills all found the back of the net as well.  Additional single helpers were awarded to Glauser, Terpstra, Mills, McCarthy, Van Bakel, and Brandon Dietrich.
Next up was the semi-final vs BCH, not to be taken lightly after a slim one-goal margin of victory in their most recent matchup.  The Meteors roared out to a quick 3-0 lead in the opening period on the strength of two more goals by Voros and one from Glauser.  After a scoreless second period, Voros would finish off the hat trick early in the third, and Dietrich would add one more to round out the scoring.  Van Bakel, Templeman, Dietrich, and Roobroeck all recorded assists.  BCH would score with 1.7 seconds remaining to ruin Beuermann's shutout bid.
