Meteors Edge Jets in WOGHL League Play
The Paul Van Gerwen Sun Life Meteor Atom Girls returned to league play in Mitchell on January 17th, slipping by the Ilderton Jets by a score of 2-1.
Abigayle Van Bakel opened the scoring late in the first period on an unassisted breakaway. Ilderton would tie it up late in the second period, but the Meteors would bounce right back less than two minutes later on a goal by Ava Harmer. The defense of Haileigh Templeman, Addy Wolfe, Grace Bach, and Riley Kipfer had a strong effort holding the blue line and stopping many Ilderton breakout attempts. League action continues this weekend hosting the Lambton Attack in Monkton on Saturday evening followed by a road trip to St. Thomas on Sunday afternoon.
