Great Start to the WOAA Finals
The MCR Advanced Collision Centre Atom LL team continue to have an outstanding season.  After finishing second in the regular season, they improved their standing in the Central South playoffs giving them first place with a record of 5-1-0 and a spot in the Atom Maroon Finals.  And now, with their sites set on the WOAA final championship against the Hanover Falcons, the Meteors are off to a great start as they won the first game of the series in a 2-1 overtime win today at the Hanover arena.

During the playoffs, the boys have continued to develop their own unique abilities; each contributing to the fabric of the team.  Goaltender, Aedan M.'s quick hands have made several key saves which have kept the Meteors alive throughout the playoffs.  Lucas B. is gaining confidence at the blue line and in front of the Meteor net as he stops pucks and makes crucial passes to other players.  Ben H.'s speed and keen sense of the game, has stifled the hopes of several opposing forwards attempting to make a breakaway.  With several goals under his belt, Colby F.'s shots keep getting harder and more accurate; even scoring from the opposite end of the ice.  As a dependable defenceman, Brody S. has had made consistent and vital checks preventing rushing opportunities by opposing forwards.  In addition to making many precise passes, Jackson K. is quite versatile scoring goals as a forward and filling in as a defenceman when called upon.  Gaining several goals and assists, Nolan R. has developed a very effective clearing shot over the heads of opposing defencemen and into scoring territory.  As an outstanding centreman, Matthew M. uses his strength and agility to find the back of the net at just the right time.  Goals are no stranger to Rogan C. as he finds creative ways to finesse his way past opponents giving him a clear view of the net.  With a hatrick under his belt and a goal in each of the last three games, Austin J. continues to use his speed to set up scoring opportunities.  As an effective forward, Jack C. has shown that his strong backhander is a great way to make important, game-changing goals.  Then to top it all off, with the game-winning goal in the first game against the Hanover Falcons, Carter M. proves that hard work and determination is the recipe for winning games.
The next game in the final series takes place on Saturday, March 23, at 5:45 in Mitchell so come on out to cheer the boys on and help them carry this momentum to a victory.
