Mid-Season Update
The Mitchell Meteors Atom LL team continue to play well and improve their game.  Their hard work during practices has payed off in their latest games as they are skating faster and finding more  opportunities to pass the puck.  In league action they find themselves in second place with an impressive 8-1-2 record.  In addition, they had an impressive showing at their latest tournament this past weekend as they tied a tough team from Lucan and outplayed the BCH#1 team 2-0 sending them to the B final were they played hard but were defeated by the host Zurich Thunder.

The best part of it all is watching the boys develop their hockey game.  With seven shut-outs thus far, Aedan M. continues to wow the fans with his quick reflexes and impressive saves.  He is backed by his committed defencemen including Brody S. who has calm and assured puck handling as he carry's the puck out of the Meteor end, Lucas B. who provides dependable checking making it difficult for any opponent to get past him, Ben H. who has a keen mind for the game of hockey as he makes very effective plays to advance the puck to the opponents end, and Colby F. who melts the ice with his incredibly strong wrist shots from the blue line.
There is also a great depth of talent on the forward's end of the bench.  Matthew M. has an impressive shot often scoring 'bar down', Rogan C. has the timely ability to place himself in scoring positions, Nolan R. has fast hands as he weaves the puck around several opponents, Austin J. Has fast and agile skating skills enabling him to find the puck at any end of the rink, Jack C. has determination that carries him through any puck battles in the corner, Carter M. has a strong work ethic and is always seen skating as hard as he can to make it to the puck first, and Jackson K. has and excellent one-timer shot at just the right time.

Once again, many thanks go to all the coaching staff for their hard work and dedication.  The boys appreciate your leadership and expertise.  In addition, the team is very thankful for their team sponsor, the MCR Advanced Collision Centres.

This weekend the Meteors look forward to taking on the Blyth-Brussels Crusaders on Saturday at 9:00 in Blyth and then hosting the Seatforth Stars at the Mitchell arena on Sunday at 5:50.
