Mitchell Advances to Second Round OMHA Play-Offs
After a tough loss on Saturday's game 3 of OMHA play-offs, the pressure was on for the Walkom's Valu-Mart Atom Rep boys to bring home a win, which would give the boys their six points and advance them to round 2.

Mitchell came out on fire and looking for the win!

It was a quick start for the boys and the score board was lit up within a minute of the first.  Ethan Jarmuth rushed the puck up the ice and fired one at the goalie, who let out a rebound to Charlie Wolfe who poked it in for a 1-0 lead.  Just seconds later Carter Miller, who has made it look easy all season, stoned Kincardine on a breakaway shot.  The boys managed to shut Kincardine down the entire first period and closed it out 1-0.   Shortly into the second period Kincardine fired back and tied the game at 1 and then with a powerplay goal managed to take the lead.  The boys were down, but they were coming on strong and not giving up.  Jonah Gibbings fired one from the point after a pass from Jarmuth and evened the game at 2.  This was a back and forth battle - a nail biter to say the least.  The boys were persistent out there.  Cohen Ahrens fired a top-shelfer from the blue line to match the score at 3.  After a water break and a pep talk from the coaches, the Meteors came into the third bringing the heat.  Bryce Dixon got the ball rolling after he fired one in from a pass by Charlie Wolfe for a 4-3 lead.  Ryan Glauser pinched along the boards and managed to score the fifth of the night giving Mitchell a 2 goal spread. Kincardine again came back with a  notch on the scoreboard, but the boys weren't phased by it.  This was their game for the taking.  To seal the deal for the Meteors, Jarmuth wheeled the puck end to end and Braden Hoegy buried one home for a 6-4 lead and final score.

The squad will advance to Round 2 versus the undefeated Saugeen Shores, but The Storm better be ready because these boys are kicking A$$ and taking names - this is play-off hockey!
