Regional Silver Stick - Game 1
The Walkom's Valu-Mart Atom Reps travelled to Wingham for their first game of Regional Silver Stick versus Twin Centre Hurricanes.

The game was evenly matched, but the boys were showing strong skills and practice has paid off, both offensively and defensively.  The Meteors were all over the Hurricanes throughout the entire game.  Mid-way through the first period, Logan Verberne (who went on to earn MVP of the game) rushed the puck up the outside and snuck one past the goaltender for the first goal of the game, the boys taking a 1-0 lead.  Assists went to Ethan Jarmuth and Bryce Dixon.

Just 10 seconds into the second period Bryce Dixon was in the perfect spot to score off a rebound from Max Hannon’s shot, also assisted by Logan Verberne.  Not even 2 minutes later, Ryan Klumper tipped in another rebound off of Elijah Bender's shot from the point - these boys were in the right place at the right time!!  Carter Miller had no problems keeping the boys in this game and continued to make it look easy between the pipes, making glove save after glove save, and not giving up many rebounds.  Jonah Gibbings fired a beauty shot from the point, straight into the net, for a 4-1 lead to close out the second.

Into the third, Jarmuth deked and dangled his way down the ice and through the Hurricane for a top corner goal, assisted by Verberne, to take a 5-1 lead.  The Meteor's defense did a great job pinching and keeping the puck out of our end, setting up the offense to do their thing.  Twin Centres managed to get another goal on the scoreboard on a power-play, but Mitchell fought back and Ryan Klumper lit it up with a top-shelf sniper.

The Mitchell Meteors defeated Twin Centres Hurricanes 6-2.
