Voros Steals the Show In Playoff Opener
Submitted By Neal Hartwig on Tuesday, February 12, 2019
The Dodge Caravan Kids Novice C girls travelled to Thamesford for the playoff opener against the West Oxford Inferno Monday night.

Both teams have been well matched all season, so the fans were in for a great show.

The first period started out with the Inferno coming out of the gate hard, putting lots of pressure on the Meteors. The girls tried their best to fight off the Inferno pressure and were rewarded with the first goal of the game as Ellie Macarthur would get the puck to Kayla Visneskie out front, whose close range shot was blocked.  Ally VanBakel was in perfect position to smack the rebound into the net.  West Oxford kept the pressure on Mitchell but all attempts (including a powerplay with two minutes remaining) were denied.  Goaltender Danika Voros made several key stops throughout the game including a great glove save and a sliding kick save. Voros kept her team in the game for the Meteors to earn the 1-0 shutout victory.
