Double Header Comes up Short for Novice C Girls
The Dodge Caravan Kids Novice C Girls faced Mooretown Lady Flags for a double header on Saturday.

Mooretown was looking to redeem themselves from a loss to the Meteors earlier in the season.  They had their team bus packed full of players and fans, ready for an afternoon of Hockey in Monkton and Mitchell.

The first game started out well with the Meteors holding the visitors to only one goal in the first period.  The second period saw the Flags go up by two more goals to put the Meteors down 3-0.  The girls had many chances throughout the game but couldn't get past the Mooretown Goaltender.  Ellie MacArthur made some great saves throughout the game and was able to keep the loss at 3-0 as the clock would down.

Game 2 started out better with the Meteors MacArthur taking the lead breaking free from the Flags' defence to net the first goal.  Mooretown took control of the game in the second period by sniping 2 goals in the second period.

The Meteors answered back in the third with two goals to take the lead once again.  The first coming from MacArthur on a shot off the back of the Mooretown goalie, assisted by Alise Crawford. The second on a goalmouth rebound by Martyna Hartwig, also assisted by Crawford.  With four minutes remaining, things were looking good for the Meteors until Mooretown potted three more goals to end the game with a 5-3 loss.  Elyn Hannon tried her best in net while having many difficult saves to make.
