MacArthurs Hat Trick Seals The Victory for Novice C Girls
Submitted By Neal Hartwig on Sunday, December 02, 2018
The Novice C girls defeated the Lambton Attack 4-3 on home ice.

On Saturday The Dodge Caravan Kids Novice C girls had their second game of the regular season. The game started with some pressure from the Lambton Attack which led to two quick goals midway through the first period including one shorthanded goal by the Attack. The Girls were down by two, but did not give up.  Ellie MacArthur opened the scoring for the Meteors with four minutes remaining in the first, by breaking free from the Attack defence.  Kayla Visneskie marked the second goal just 19 seconds later with a perfect shot just off the faceoff.  The period ended with the score all tied up.

The lone goal in the second period came from the Attack, putting them up 3-2 over the Meteors.

Selina Gethke kept the net closed the remainder of the game.  The third period would see MacArthur grab the remaining two goals to both finish off her hat trick as well as seal the victory for the Novices. The tying goal was a clean breakaway with a hard shot ringing the back of the net and the game winner was earned by battling through the faceoff.

While there were no assists recorded for the game, the whole team contributed to the victory, and are working well together.
