Novice C Girls Win Season Opener
Novice Girls are off to a good start to the regular season with a 12-1 win over the Stratford Aces.
In typical fashion, the girls came out strong with 5 goals in the first and only allowing what would turn out to be the lone goal for the Aces. Ally VanBakel kept the net closed the rest of the game. The second period recorded four goals and three goals in the third.
Goals on the game would come from Avery Smith, Ellie MacArthur (3), Alise Crawford (4), Selina Gethke (2), Kayla Visneskie and Amelia Wolfcamp.
Assists went to Charlee Weesjes, Phoebe Wood, Visneskie, Wolfkamp, MacArthur, Smith, Elyn Hannon, Gethke and Danika Voros.
Strong defensive play by Horan, Smith, Gethke and Hannon contributed greatly to the victory.
