The Mitchell dodge caravan novice LL 2 team went 3-0 on the weekend to win the Zurich thunder tournament to make it 2 tournament victories in a row

This past weekend the Mitchell novice LL 2 completed another tournament sweep with a 3-0 win in the finals versus the south huron sabres. The squad started the weekend off vs BCH, in this affair the team started off a little rusty and it took a few big saves from goaltender Dylan dietrich to stabilize the team. Forwards Reegan vessie and Quaide Hoskins found the back of the net to lead the offense. Connor Wolfe and Caleb Pennings contributed on offense and defense. The game finished in a 4-1 victory for the meteors. In the second game of the day Mitchell faced a solid Lucan squad. This was a back and forth affair, r. vessie, masen Houghton and Lincoln Laverty led the offense. Goalie Tatum vessie made a pivitol save on a Lucan breakaway to hold the lead. The defensive pair of Landon Glauser and Luke krempien once again showed that opposing teams didn't have much of a chance of scoring when they were on the ice. Wolfe not only was a forechecking force but along with defensive partner Brayden baxter they didn't allow any penetration into our own end. Wolfe was later named player of the game. The game finished in a 7-3 win for the meteors. Later in the day the whole team plus goalies competed in a tournament wide shootout competition. The meteor shooters didn't fair to well, but goalie Dylan Dietrich went toe to toe with a strong Zurich thunder goalie. In the end dietrich outlasted the competition and won the award for top goalie in the competition. In the finals 2 way player Carson Vosper led the forechecking and along with linemates r.vessie and Houghton moved the puck and r.vessie found the net. Pennings added another marker along with hoskins, and baxter didn't let the sabres out of there own zone. The clock ticked down with a 3-0 win for the locals. All 12 kids contributed to the victory and worked hard all weekend, the coaches were very impressed with the hardwork on both ends of the ice
