Tough loss in the semi-finals
Regional Silver Stick action continued for the McLaughlins Auto Wholesailing Mitchell Novice Reps, when they came up a goal short in semi-final game facing South Huron.

In an exciting and action packed first period the Meteors were fired-up and held their own with strong defense and great offensive attempts, while Bryson Eickmeyer stood on his head in the Meteors end to keep it a scoreless game heading into the second period.

South Huron would open up the scoring late into the second period, but Mitchell would respond back by Carson Lubbers lifting the puck up and over South Hurons goalies pads from the side of the net to tie the game.  Cole Templeman drawing the assist.

Starting the third period with a 1-1 tie South Huron with a "questionable goal" would put them ahead 2-1.  Not to be defeated Mitchell turned it up and tied it again where Lubbers fired it into the net with Ray Wolfe adding the assist.  Battling hard late into the third period Mitchell was unable to find the back of the net and South Huron scored with three minutes left in the game.

Despite outstanding goaltending by Bryson Eickmeyer, the Meteors were unable to come back and fell to the Sabres 3-2.

Congratulations to a job well done boys, you all played so hard and should be proud!!!!
