Novices advance to elimination round in silverstick
On Thursday December 27th the Mitchell meteor Novice Rep team started their Silverstick journey with a win and a loss.  

On Thursday morning Mitchell started out with a win against Petrolia.  Carson Lubbers opened the scoring with Cam Dietz and  Logan Montgomery drawing the assists.  Petrolia responded to tie the game heading into the second period. 

Starting the second period Mitchell came out strong with Montgomery adding the game winner with Dietz and Max Brodhagen adding the assists.  Mitchell's  forwards and defence combined to helped shut down Petroila in the third.  Giving Mitchell the win 2-1.

In action Thursday afternoon Mitchell faced  Mooretown taking a tough 4-0 loss. 
Due to some illnesses on the team,  a shout out to Connor Wolfe for filling in on short notice for Thursday's games.

Mitchell would then advance to the quarter finals Friday morning for a rematch against Petrolia. The boys looking for the "W" were on fire and came out strong.  Netting the first goal for Mitchell went to Cole Templeman who was in perfect position for the pass from Lubbers and Ray Wolfe.  Petrolia came back and matched the point by getting the puck under the pads of Bryson Eickmeyer. 
Mitchell would battle back,  Lubbers breaking the tie would rush the puck up the ice weaving his way around the Petrolia players only to snip it top shelf.  Ending the first period 2-1 Mitchell.

At the start of the second period Max Brodhagen adds a point to the scoreboard with a nice pass in front of the net from Tyler Burtenshaw. 
Burtenshaw minutes later finds the back of the net with Lubbers adding the assist.  Owen Jarmuth handles the puck and goes end to end to make it 5-1 Mitchell.  Mitchell doesn't stop there, Lubbers adds another one to end the second period with a 6-1 lead.  
Starting the third period with a nice lead Wolfe, Brodhagen and Burtenshaw would add to the score with Dietz and Jarmuth drawing assists.  Ending the game with a 9-1 victory.

Mitchell advances to the semis Sunday morning at 1130 against South Huron in Parkhill.
