Novice Reps split games on Sunday
The boys lost to Suageen Shores 4-0, but rebounded quickly to defeat a first place Kincardine team.
Mitchell couldn't shake off the "bus legs" as they came up short to a Suageen Shores team that showed up to play. The Meteors couldn't get any offense going and had to deal with penalty troubles.
After a long drive and a tough loss in Port Elgin, the boys and their fans packed up and headed to Kincardine for a game an hour later. The Meteors were much more prepared for this matchup. Carson Lubbers gave Mitchell a 1-0 lead in the first period. Owen Jarmuth extended the lead in the second with a drive from the point. Lubbers was at it again in the third period with two more goals with the last one being a laser just under the cross bar. The kinucks did manage a goal after goalie Bryson Eickmeyer had lost his stick during a scramble. Jarmuth, Ray Wolfe, and Cam Dietz each had two assists with Lubbers getting a single. The Meteor defence squad of Jarmuth, Lucas DeJong, Blake Otten, and Dietz did an excellent job of shutting down Kincardine's big guns. Eickmeyer faced a lot of rubber and had to make some key saves in the win.
