PeeWee LL's Open Playoffs With Road Win
The Mitchell Br. 128 PeeWee LL's played their first game of the playoffs on the road against BCH and came away with a win. Despite dominating the play in the first period the Ice Dogs would get on the board first and take a 1-0 lead. The Meteors were not short on chances in the period, but couldn't get any lucky bounces to fall their way.

Caleb Kay would score two consecutive goals to put the Meteors in the lead in the middle frame. The first would come during 4 on 4 play when Kay would pick up the puck at centre ice and drive hard to the net to beat the BCH goalie. Minutes later, Kay would be able to knock in a rebound shot that was left sitting just in front of the goalie. Preston Porter and Logan Nugent would get the assists on the goal. The Meteors would go up 3-1 on a bullet fired from the stick of Jake Crowley on the blue line that the Ice Dog's goalie couldn't contain. BCH would get a late goal in the period to bring the score to 3-2 going into the third.

Meteor defenders Crowley and Blake Redfern along with goalie Ethan Dearing would shut down a 5 on 3 penalty kill early in the third to hold on to the lead. The Meteors would keep up their strong play as the clock wound down. With three minutes to go, Porter would take a perfect pass from Kay right in front of the Ice Dog's goalie and would not miss. Redfern would also assist on the goal. With the BCH goalie pulled, Sam Huettlin would send a hard shot from mid-ice to add some insurance to the Meteors lead. With heavy pressure on a last minute power play, BCH would manage one more goal but the Meteors would take the game with a score of 5-3.

The Meteors will continue their playoff action against Central Perth tomorrow evening in Monkton.
