Meteors Take Down Ice Dogs
The Pee Wee LL Legion Branch 128 Meteors played the BCH Ice Dogs in Hensall on Sunday afternoon and came away with a solid 6-3 win. The Meteors would gain control of the puck early and with good passing to start the game would be the first on the scoreboard with a goal by Zach Huygen after an nice pass in front of the net by Sam Huettlin. At the mid-point of the period, BCH would come back with a goal of their own. The Meteors would again take the lead before the end of the period after a scramble in front of the net that would see Caleb Kay poke in the loose puck with assists going to Preston Porter and Logan Nugent.

In the second period of play the Ice Dogs would again tie the game up with two goals a piece. The Meteors would keep up their strong pace of play and would answer back with a rebound shot to score by Nolan Vessie with the assist going to Grayson Yost.

The Meteors would finish the game with an energetic three goal third period. Porter would be able to back hand a quick pass by Kay in front of the net to bring the score to 4-3.  Kay would get the next two of the goals giving him a hat trick plus an assist on the afternoon. Assisting on Kay's goals were Blake Redfern, Yost, Porter and Liam Brodhagen. The Meteors defence played a strong game led by goalie Ethan Dearing, always working quickly to clear the puck from their own end.

The Pee Wee LL's next game will take place in Monkton this coming Thursday against the Central Perth Predators.
