Hard work pays off in road win
The Dodge Caravan Kids Novice LL1 team travelled to Lucknow on November 11 to take on the Sepoys.  The boys looked to keep the winning momentum going on Saturday and did just that with a defensive juggernaut of a game.

The Meteors got off to another quick start when 50 seconds into the game Ray Wolfe picked up a loose puck in the neutral zone and with a burst of speed found himself one on one with the Sepoy goalie, with a great little dipsee-doo he made it 1 – 0.  What followed next was the start of a defensive clinic put on by the Meteors defense and would continue throughout the entire game. Lucas Bree, Reegan Vessie, Luke Krempien and Tyler Burtenshaw all made it their mission to keep the puck out of Mitchell’s own zone. The Sepoy’s tied the game early in the 2nd period only to see Mitchell go ahead again when Hudson Porter buried a rebound assisted by Quiade Hoskin. In the third period Mitchell finally figured out the Lucknow goalie with goals coming from Ray Wolfe, Connor Wolfe, Bryson Eickmeyer and Porter. More helpers coming from Burtenshaw, Braden Baxter and Eickmeyer.

In post-game interviews the coaches pre-game message was to “keep the puck out of our end and keep the pressure on them” remarked goalie Carter Harris. “Our defense did an excellent job today, made my job a lot easier, you can’t ask for any more of an effort than that”. The Meteors enjoy a three-day break before back to back games on Wednesday and Thursday nights at home against the Novice LL2 and Seaforth Stars teams respectively. Go get ‘em boys!
