The ACE Country & Garden PeeWee C
girls ventured to Mount Forest this weekend for the Mount Forest
Girls Classic Tournament. They began the weekend strong with a win
over Saugeen Shores 2-1.
Cydney Weir opened the scoring in the
2nd, with Lauren McKay adding another single assisted by
Weir and Nicole Hahn.
Later that day they challenged the host team Mount Forest B. Falling 1 goal short Shawni DeJong brought her “A” game in net against the Mount Forest firing squad resulting in a 1-0 loss with DeJong also receiving a well deserved MVP that game.
On Saturday they played TCDMHA Rebels (Township of Chatsworth), once again falling 1 goal short with the final score of 2-1. Nicole Hahn was the lone scorer sniping the top corner assisted by Jodyn Crawford. After the round robin play we met up with Saugeen Shores again in the Semi-final. This time we couldn't pull off the win resulting 1-0 and an empty netter. Strong defensive play by Kalea Keyser, Brett Gethke, Alley McMann and Meg Schonnderwoerd kept the opponents scoring to a minimum. The girls host Wallceburg in Mitchell next Sunday @ 5:45. Keep up the hard work girls!
