Offensive Outburst for Atom HL Girls
The JP Uniac Insurance Atom HL Girls opened their 2017-18 playoff run with two strong performances over South Huron and Tillsonburg.

Saturday afternoon at home against South Huron, the girls struck early and often in the first period.  Haileigh Templeman opened the scoring 28 seconds into the game as a result of a strong forecheck along with linemates Rachel Haefling and Andrea Kelly.  The Meteors would add 3 more in the first frame with Andrea Kelly netting a pair and Alissa Insley with a single.  The second and third would provide a tighter checking affair with the locals putting up 3 more goals for the 7-0 win.  Kelly completed her hattrick with the lone goal in the second, while Haefling and Templeman's second rounded out the scoring.  Ally Vogels was sharp when tested earning the shutout in goal.

Monday evening the girls traveled to Tillsonburg for their second round robin game of the playoffs.  Again the girls came out firing with Brooklynn French and Tegan Mace both scoring in the opening frame.  The red hot Meteor offense would continue to fire with 6 goals in the second period, led by a pair of goals from both Hayden Uniac and Kelly.  Singles markers were scored by Haefling and Templeman.  The third would see the teams exchange a goal each as Mace potted her second of the game to round up a 9 to 1 win.

The locals look to continue their strong play with Woodstock coming to Mitchell Friday night.
