Thompson AE's moving along
The Mitchell Atom AES have been working hard the last few weeks coming off a Silver Stick  tournament in Collingwood with one win and two losses. The win would come versus the Collingwood Squad and two losses from the St Mary's Rock and then an eager Dorchester team that would unfortunately put the AE's out of the Silver Stick running, but not without a fight. The Mitchell team has been skating since to gain more victories as they continue to wow the fans.

Just this past week the boys would face off on Friday December 1st against Central Perth just up Highway 23 in Moncton who they are very tightly matched with for skill on the ice.  This game would go the same as most games seem to be against the Central Perth opponents with continuous edge of your seat, end-to-end action. Late in the first Mitchell would open the scoring with number 9 Bryce Dixon scoring assisted by number 14 Lucas Mahon.  This would have the Thompson AEs leaving the ice the first period  With a jump of confidence.  The visiting Mitchell team would continue to hold the lead throughout the majority of the second period until the last 33 seconds when the home team Central Perth would manage to pass the puck by netminder Keegan Meinen for the first time in the game making it an even score of 1-1 to begin the third period. Starting fresh in the third Mitchell and Central Perth would go head-to-head in order to gain the lead of the game with the home team scoring against the Meteors at the 12 minute mark into the Third. The Meteors would continue in the third to pass the puck and skate hard down the ice in effort to score to tie the game, however would come up empty in an eventual loss of 2 to 1.

The following day, Saturday the 2nd , the Thompson AES would face off against the Listowel Cyclones on the Meteors home ice.  Both teams came to play and we're confident for the win. With another close scoring game the Mitchell Meteors would find themselves down a shy 1-0 with 5 minutes left in the third. The Listowel Cyclones had done well keeping the pressure on in the first and second in retaining the lead.  With a 5 on 3 situation Payton Wood, won the face off and passed it to Jacob Dietrich who would place it in the net past the Cyclones goalie. Still in the excitement of it all, within a minute of play, Dietrich would score again assisted by Logan Verberne and Ryan Glauser making it a quick lead of 2-1 for the Mitchell hosts.  Listowel would try to rebound within the last 3 minutes of play attempting to sneak one by the wall, Keegan Meinen with no success and would have to settle for a loss against the Thompsons Atom AE's.
