Moving on to Consolation Final
The McLaughlin's Auto Wholesaling Novice Rep team has had some ups and downs during the playoff season however the downs have been overshadowed by two straight wins in their most recent games so they have earned a spot competing in the WOAA Twolan Consolation Final against the Listowel Cyclones.

It all started with a best of three series against the Hanover Falcons.  The Meteors played hard however they were defeated by the Falcons so their path was set towards the Consolation Finals.  The 2nd phase of the playoffs consisted of a three-team round robin.

In game one against the Listowel Cyclones the Meteors took a 4-1 loss.  The lone meteor goal was made by Landon VanBakel.  The second game against Listowel was much closer however the Cyclones edged the Meteors with a final score of 4-3.  Two of the three goals were made by Owen Beuermann while Cam Dietz stepped up to contribute the third goal. Two of the goals were assisted by Landon VanBakel.

In the first game against the Walkerton Capitals Jake Richardson and Landon VanBakel each made a goal to give the Meteors a 2-1 victory.  In the second game against Walkerton the Meteors came out on top with a winning score of 3-2.  Goals were shared between Owen Beuermann, Austin Judge and Landon VanBakel.  Assists were made by Austin Judge, Cam Dietz and Carson Lubbers.

Each of these games were very close and represented some of the Meteors' best hockey this year.  The Defencemen, Nate Uniac, Isaak Smith, Owen Jarmuth and Colby Faust each played exceptionally well as they repeatedly kept the puck in the oponents end offering several scoring chances.  Forwards, Carson Brown, Carson Lubbers, Owen Beuermann, Landon VanBakel, Jake Richardson and Austin Judge demonstrated their improving skills in stick handling, and skating.  Carter Miller has continually defended the net with precision and skill while keeping the opponents very frustrated.  Keep up the great work boys!

The Meteors will be playing a best three of five series against the Listowel Cyclones starting on Sunday, March 18th in Mitchell at 5:45.  The previous games against Listowel have all been very competitive so the series should turn out to be very exciting.
