Tie and a Win
The Midget Local League Team continues to hold their no loss status with a tie against Mount Forest on December 5, 2016 and a win against Lucknow on December 13, 2016. The team truly has a zest and passion for the sport. It is comforting to know that this young team enjoys the sport and continues to show the love of the game by participating in practices and games.

The December 5 challenge was held at the Mitchell arena and generated a good match with a few penalties by each team and only one goal surrendered by each team. Goals scored within a minute of each other with the tying goal scored by Ezekiel Koert to secure our no loss status.

The December 13 game was held at the Monkton site with the team sporting new jerseys. The Larry Hudson Chevrolet Midget Local League team was able to celebrate a shut out by goalie,  James Copeland.

The first period began with a couple of goals including the second goal fired at the five hole and rebound flipped up and in. The second period began on a fast pace with a beautiful butterfly save by Mitchell's Copeland. The puck continued to be passed and shared by the Mitchell team with Lucknow intercepting and trying to out smart our goaltender. To Lucknow's dismay they were unable to sneak one passed our James Copeland and Mitchell continued to hold the lead. The third period was much the same with many shots on both nets. The Lucknow goaltender was keene but the Mitchell team continued to persistently tire the goalie resulting in a 7-0 shut out in favour of Mitchell.

Great hockey to be watching! True ambassadors of the sport. Next game Monday, December 19 at 8 pm at the Hensall Arena.
