A Week of Highs and Lows
The B & S Construction Bantam Girls Mitchell Meteors put great stress on their parents this week.

The week started off on a bit of a downer, as the girls dropped a close one to one of the toughest teams in the league, Kent County. The score was 5-2, but the girls basically were in command till the third period, when they kind of went commando. The girls were up 2-1, when KC scored 4 unanswered goals. Yikes.
Goal scorers were Ryley Jacobs and Madison McNichol.

Next, in a very busy week, the girls beat the Lambeth C team 4-1. The girls had a bit of a slow start, but then turned it on.
Goal scorers were Mihret Eliasziw, Ryley Jacobs, Tayler McCann and Faith Binns.
Miss McCann seemed to be on a bit of a scoring drought because she hadn't had a hat trick in two games (before which she had four consecutive hat tricks). Get your act together, young lady!

The next night, the girls suffered one of the greatest failures in sports history (until Michigan lost to Ohio in College football in double OT this past weekend, much to Coach Jeff's chagrin). The girls were cruising to an easy 3-0 victory against South Huron, when the bottom fell out. South Huron scored 3 crazy goals in the last 47 seconds of the game to tie. Ugh!

Goal scorers were Sami Cameron and Tayler McCann(2).

Also that evening, the webmaster, also known in some circles simply as the “master”, was yelled at and scolded by Alyssa’s Grampa because he was on his cell phone at times during the game, and not watching his daughter play. It was a strange king of night, indeed.

Well, how about some good news. How about sweeping 5 straight games in a tournament to win gold!

The girls played in the Kitchener Fallfest tournament.

In round robin play:

The girls beat St. Thomas 6-2

Goal scorers were Faith Binns, Tayler McCann(2), Ryley Jacobs, Madison McNichol, and Lauren Steel. Wait…What..? Lauren Steel scored??? Next thing you know, they’ll be telling me that Donald Trump is President. That’s crazy!

The girls beat Lambton 5-1

Goal scorers were Faith Binns(2), Ryley Jacobs, Alyssa Greidanus, and Lauren Steel. Lauren Steel, puck hog. Think about passing it once in a while.

The girls beat Sarnia 4-2

Goal scorers were Ryley Jacobs, and Tayler McCann(3). It’s about time that girl scored a hat trick. Lauren Steel did not score.

Semi-Finals

The girls beat Lambton 3-2

Goal scorers were Ryley Jacobs, Chloe Bannon, and a beauty by Joy Pizzati.

Finals

The girls beat St. Thomas 4-1, or 5-1 if you count the goal Chloe scored.

Goal scorers  were Alyssa Greidanus, Ryley Jacobs, Sami Cameron, and Faith Binns.

Thanks to die hard Meteor fans Mackenna and Nolan for leading the "LET'S GO MITCHELL!" cheer during the game. WHOOP! WHOOP!

Solid goaltending was provided by Miss Maggie “BRICK” Phillips

Well done Ladies!

Credit for the photo included in this article goes to crazed hockey moms Jeannie and Karen, who essentially bullied the “master” into including it in the article. This was very stressful for the “master” as he had to consult Google several times to figure out how to add it.
