vs South Huron and vs Lambton Attack
The Atom Girls HL Meteors registered a win and a tie over the weekend. A deadlock with the South Huron Sabres and a big victory over the Lambton Attack earned them a current first place berth in their division.
The girls battled to a 3-3 tie with the Sabres in a first game see-saw. The Sabres broke a 2-2 tie with 2 minutes left, but the Meteors capitalized on some poor defensive zone coverage by the opposition and salvaged a tie with barely a minute remaining. Josie Walker popped in the first, and Jade Huygen scored the following two goals. Peyton Vanderkuylen, Aubrey Vosper, Brooklyn Boville, and Rachel Haefling all gathered assists. Allyson Vogels gave the Meteors a chance to earn the tie with some strong play in net.
In the second game of the weekend, the Meteors hammered a beleaguered Lambton Attack 8-0. BB rang off a Texas Hattrick, Huygen added a pair of goals, with Josie Walker and Brooklyn French collecting singles. Hayden Uniac and Sadie Josling each assisted twice in the victory.
