Atom AE's Open Alymer Tournament With A Tie
The Thompson's Atom AE Meteors played their first game of the Alymer AE Tournament on Friday afternoon against the Ingersol Express. The Meteors opened strong with good speed and passing from the drop of the puck. Brayden Glauser would get the Meteors on the board early after he was able to tap in a perfect pass in front of the net by Jaxen Hartwig. Just 25 seconds later, Glauser would knock in his second goal on the same shift to give the Meteors an early 2-0 lead.

The Meteors would keep up their strong play in the second period, but the Ingersol goalie would turn away several Mitchell chances with lots of pressure in front of the net. At the mid-point of the third period, Ingersol would bounce back and score two quick goals to tie the game at two. With two minutes left in the period both teams would see chances to take the lead, but strong goal-tending in both ends would keep the score tied. Meteor's goalie Joel Meinen would make a big save in a 5 on 3 Ingersol power play to hold on for the tie.

Brayden Glauser was named Mitchell's MVP for the game. The Meteors will face Ilderton and Caledonia in tournament play tomorrow.
