Winning Weekend For Atom AE's
The Thompson's Atom AE Meteors played two games in their WOAA round robin play this weekend and came away with two wins. On Saturday afternoon the Meteors played the BCH Ice Dogs in Monkton and would take the game 4-3 after being down early in the game. Brayden Glauser would have a 4 point game with three goals and one assist to lead the team, while Ryan Hubbard would score the winner on Glauser's assist. Charlie Geiger and Hubbard would also come away with assists in the game.

On Sunday evening the Meteors faced Central Perth and would take control in the first period, out skating and out shooting their opponent but would be not be able get on the scoreboard. The Meteors would fall behind early in the second period as Central Perth would find the net first. At the mid-point of the period Noah Mann would make a perfect pass from centre ice up to Bryce Otten who would make a great shot from the slot to beat the goalie and put Mitchell on the board. Central Perth would strike again before the end of the period to take the lead into the third.

The Meteors never say die attitude showed strong in the third period as they battled hard for the puck. Ryan Hubbard would tie the game at two as he would manage to elude the chase of Central Perth's defense to make a last second shot lifting the puck over their sprawling goalie and into the net. Assisting on the goal was Jaxen Hartwig. The game winning goal would be scored just seconds later by Brayden Glauser assisted by Carter O'Brien in a goal mouth scramble. With two minutes left in the game Central Perth would pull their goalie and keep heavy pressure on the Meteors. Goalie Joel Meinen would come up big for the team making an exceptional save in the dying seconds to hold on for the win.
