Walkom's Valu-Mart Tyke 1 looking good in another home ice win
The Walkom's Valu-Mart Tyke 1 put forth a great team effort in a victory on Sunday morning (Nov.20) against the Bylth/Brussels Crusaders.

With the first shutout of the season, Meteors' goalie Cole Templeman stood tall turning away every shot the visitors fired at him. In a post game interview Templeman was happy to record the shutout but said "having a strong blue line makes my job a lot easier, it was a great effort from our defence".

With a depleted squad, seven skaters took to the ice sharing the load with double and triple shifts required through-out the 48 minute game. The offense came quick and often for the Meteors with Blake Otten, Ben Hubbard, Bryson Eickmeyer and Owen Jarmuth sharing the balanced attack. On more than one occasion the crowd was treated to some "tic-tac-toe" passing that resulted in easy goals. As mentioned earlier strong defensive play came from Connor Wolfe, Carter Harris and Tyler Burtenshaw. The trio broke up several offensive rushes and scoring chances from the visitors.

Head Coach Mike Jarmuth in post game comments was very pleased with the team effort; "I thought we put together a great performance even though we were short a few skaters". Jarmuth noted that it was great to see some of specific passing skills worked on in practice coming through at game time. Good luck next Sunday in Ilderton!
