Scotiabank Bantam AE's win OMHA Championship
Scotiabank Bantam AE's hit home ice on Tuesday March 22nd facing the Ilderton Jets for the final game in OMHA finals winning 4-0.

First period Mitchell Bantam AE's lined up ready for another good night of hockey. It was a fast start as both teams tried to be first on the board.  It would be Curt Eidt who sent in the first goal with a short handed rebound shot ending the period  1-0 Mitchell.
Second period Damen Kay was taken out in front of the Jet's net which resulted in a penalty shot. Kay sends a nice wrist shot in, just over the shoulder, keeping the momentum going.  Caleb Tweddle assisted by Kurt Forrest picks up the loose puck and sends one home, putting in the Bantam AE's 200th goal of the season.
When the Jets did get the puck our guys were all over them taking back control.  Ilderton almost scored late in the second period but Kyle Richardson flew down the ice knocking the puck off the Jet's stick foiling their efforts.  Kurtis Forrest assisted by Caleb Tweddle and Trevor DeJong found the sweet spot moving Mitchell ahead 4-0.

Third period had no goals as James Vink was hot in between the posts blocking all attempts.
Mitchell Meteors stayed strong and played smart right to the end. It was a great series but tonight Mitchell outplayed the Jets. Mitchell Bantam AE's take the hardware winning the OMHA championship.
Coach Owen Chaffe was pretty pleased as he rode with the boys behind the fire truck on the traditional celebration ride around town. An exciting night!

Congrats boys.
