The Lockhart Pee Wee local league Mitchell Meteors hosted the BCH Ice Dogs Wednesday in Mitchell. It was chippy game between the two rivals but not close.
The Meteors opened the scoring just 3 minutes into the first on a goal by PJ Marshall assisted by Braedon McLean and Dominic Voros. It was the first of four first period goals by Marshall, Dominic Voros, Spencer Boyce, Will Steinbach and Jaden Faulkner assisted on the goals. Carter Yost also scored a goal in the first from Steinbach and Jason Mills to give the Meteors a 5-0 lead by the end of the first. The game stayed that way until the Ice Dogs were able to get on the board early in the third period. Mitchell bounced back a couple of minutes later on a goal from Yost assisted by McLean to regain the 5 goal margin. That’s how the game would end 6-1 Mitchell. Austin Weir recorded the win. Spencer Boyce and Keegan Hunt had good games for the Meteors.
The Lockhart Pee Wee local league Mitchell Meteors continued their dominance Saturday night as they took on an overmatched Listowel Cyclones team in Monkton. The Meteors scored early and often on way to an easy victory. Every Mitchell player except the goalie Charlie Wood got on the score sheet, Austin Weir scored a hat trick, Braedon McLean scored two and defencemen Dominic Voros and Josh Bedour also scored. Wood recorded the win.
