Finalists in 50th Annual Tobacco Tournament
Mitchell Hoegy Farm Supply Ltd. PeeWee Rep Boys participated in the 50th Annual Tobacco Town Tournament this past weekend in Delhi.
After a slower start on Friday vs Tavistock, Mitchell tied Tavistock 2-2 in game one of Round Robin action. Mitchell came out stronger the next game where they played Waterford and won 4-2. The boys were able to come home on Friday night and enjoy the parade and their own beds and then played Alymer later Saturday night. Mitchell had to win this game to move onto the semi-finals on Sunday morning. The boys won 5-2 to finish 1st in our pool. Sunday morning the boys came out flying and played one of the best game of the year. Mitchell played Shallow Lake who was not able to keep with the passing, skating, hard work and determination the team had throughout the game. It was a great team win and effort throughout. Winning 7-3, Mitchell moved onto the finals where Belmont, who went undefeated in the tournament and who has not lost a game in their regular season to date, beat Mitchell 6-0. Belmont was a fast-paced, hard skating and hard-to-the-puck team and Mitchell was not able to keep up resulting in penalty trouble and multiple Belmont power play goals.
