AE Novice Meteors On Fire In Hawks Cup Final
In what could be the battle of the year, the Dodge Caravan AE Novices kept their fans on the edge of their seats right down to the wire, in the final game of the Hawks Cup against Central Perth.

Mid-way through the first period, Payton Wood picked up a puck in front of Central Perth's net, to tip-in the Meteors first goal of the game. Central Perth would answer two minutes later to end the first period in a tie.

In the second, the Meteors forward lines pounded all sides of Central Perth's net, but were unable to get one over the goal line.  The Meteors defence lines did everything they could to clear the puck from their end and Keagan Meinen between the posts, put it all on the line as he made outstanding save, after outstanding save, to protect his net and keep the game tied heading into the third.

However, mid-way through the last period, the puck got loose in the Meteors defensive end, and trickled in off the goal posts to have Central Perth go ahead by one.  In the final minutes of the game, the team rallied together and kicked the game into high gear, which had the crowd on their feet. However, even with the extra man advantage in the final 30 seconds of the game, the Meteors battled hard, but were just shy of being able to tie the game up, ending with the buzzer in hard-fought 2-1 loss.

In a game where each and every player gave everything they had, the AE Novices should be proud of their amazing finish to an exciting tournament. Congratulations boys, on once again making us all proud!
