Novice Reps take game one in WOAA finals vs Saugeen Shores
The McLaughlin Auto Wholesaling Novice Reps drew first blood in their WOAA championship playoff series with a 7-3 victory at home over the Saugeen Shores Storm on March 13th.
Jordan Visneskie opened the game with a natural hat trick, with assists awarded to Carter O'Brien and Ryan Hubbard. Saugeen Shores would then get on the board with a powerplay marker with two minutes left in the second period.
However, Mitchell would quickly answer back with two more goals before the period's end. Zach Houben scored assisted by Hayden Nicholson, and Kellen Russwurm set up Dominic Marshall with a beautiful cross-ice pass to send him in all alone for the breakaway goal. Each team would score twice more in the third to round out the scoring, with the final Meteor tallies by Hubbard and Visneskie, who would also add an assist on Hubbard's marker. Game 2 goes March 15th in Port Elgin at 6pm.
