The Hoegys's farm Supply Pee Wee rep team hit the ice on Sunday Jan 25th for game 3 of their first round OMHA playoff series vs. the Goderich Sailors.
Evan Morrison got his 8 point night started 3 minutes into the game with a goal assisted by Ben Small and Karsen Eisler. The Meteors were looking good winning battles and controlling play. Three minutes later AP Connor MacLean put Mitchell up by 2, assisted by Kase Schoonderwoerd and Sam Snyders. Goderich showed signs of life late in the opening frame scoring on a power play and cut Mitchell's lead in half, the period ended 2-1.
The Meteors started the second period well. Zach McPhee scored 2 minutes in assisted by MacLean and Morrison. With 5 minutes left in the second Ben Small netted his first of the night assisted by Morrison and Eisler. Again the Pee Wee's took a bad penalty and Goderich capitalized scoring their second goal of the night. The Meteors, however, quickly responded and went on a scoring spree. MacLean made a great effort and scored his second of the night assisted by Snyders and Devin Fewick. 14 seconds later Eisler scored assisted by Fenwick and Mark Knill. Mitchell was up by 4 at the end of the period but the Pee Wee's weren't done yet! The third started with a nice deflection by Knill assisted by Small and David Rowland. Morrison added another assisted by Eisler and Small went top shelf also assisted by Eisler. Morrison finished things off with a tight angle top corner goal in the final seconds assisted by Mac Phee. The game ended 10-4. Mitchell leads this series by 2 games.
