Winning Weekend for Atom LL
It was a double win for Atom LL MCR Advanced Collision this weekend to keep the team in 4th place.

Friday night, the Mitchell Meteors faced the Elma-Logan Wildcats. It was a scoreless game until the second period when the Wildcats scored the first goal of the night. The Meteors came back with a goal when Basil Voros picked up a rebound shot by Jason Mills. Two minutes later, the duo pulled off the same shot, making it 2-1 for Mitchell. The Wildcats tied it up in the third period but it wasn't long until Voros, yet again, picked up the rebound shot by Andreas Harmer. With three minutes left in the game, Kyle Mills set up Keegan Hunt with a centering pass to score Mitchell's fourth goal. Elma-Logan was able to squeeze in one more goal with 2 minutes left for a final score of 4-3 for the Mitchell Meteors.
It was another slow start for Mitchell on Saturday afternoon when they met up with Blyth-Brussels Crusaders Black.  The first period saw many unsuccessful chances and a few breakaways for the Meteors. The Crusaders were the first to score in the second period. Jack Steinbach's unassisted shot was successful for Mitchell when the puck drifted in between the goalie's legs, making it 1-1. There was excitement for the Meteors when the puck was sitting in the crease in front of the Crusaders open net and no one was able to get it in. Evan O'Rourke had 2 strong defensive moves when he swept the puck away from the other team during  two 1-on-1 plays.  The Crusaders tied up the game with a goal late in the second period. Three more goals in the third period secured the win for Mitchell. Kyle Mills shot the puck towards the net and Basil Voros kept digging for it to score. Next, Jason Mills flipped the puck over the goalie seconds after a face off. The final goal was a beautiful play when Jason Mills lured the goalie out and passed the puck to Voros who gently tucked the puck in the net.  With 20 seconds left in the game, Mitchell received a penalty which encouraged the Crusaders to pull their goalie, seeing 6 on 4 but the Meteors held it together for another 4-3 win.
