Round 1 - Series Sweep
The Your Neighbourhood Credit Union Atom Reps continued games two and three this weekend.
On Friday, the Falcons made the trip south for a 6:50 p.m. start. Seth Huygen opened the scoring in the first assisted by Connor Lockhart and Connor MacLean. Lockhart added an unassisted goal followed by Huygen's second goal of the game assisted by Lockhart and Tanner Meinen to take a three goal lead at the end of the first. The Falcons scored two goals in the second but with two seconds left in the period Connor MacLean assisted by Drew Scherbarth and Brayden Vosper put the locals up by two. The Falcons again opened the scoring in the third period to draw within one, but that would be as close as they would get as Huygen assisted by Lockhart, and Lockhart assisted by MacLean and Huygen would close out the scoring for a 6-3 win.
On Saturday in Hanover, two goals by Huygen assisted by Lockhart was only enough to end regulation time with a 2-2 tie. Fifty seconds into the overtime would see Connor MacLean assisted by Joey Adam score the series winner.
During the series, Kody Eisler stood tall in net behind the strong defensive play of Matthew Crawford and Coulter Rolph. Talbot Geiger and Brett Poirier played tough on the wings to help contribute to the series win.
