Meteors Survive Thunderstorm
The Dodge Caravan Kids Novice AE's moved to a semi-final round robin record of 3-0 with a hard fought 5-3 victory Wednesday night against the Zurich Thunder. Jordan Visneskie scored four unanswered third period goals to propel the Meteors to a comeback victory.
Mitchell would open the scoring early in the first period on an unassisted goal from Jaxen Hartwig. The Thunder would answer back before the end of the first leaving the score 1-1 after one.
The teams would battle back and forth in the second period with no team able to score. Zurich would come out hard in the third period scoring twice in the first four minutes to charge out to a 3-1 lead. Visneskie would then score his first of four one minute later and the Meteors would not look back. Charlie Geiger and Jack Miller would add assists in the contest.
The Meteors will now finish up their round robin play at home against Drayton on Saturday in Mitchell.
