Good Weekend of Hockey
The Paul VanGerwen Atom Girls had a good weekend of hockey.
The team's first game of the weekend was against St Clair at home. The girls were up by a goal after the first period by Hannah E assisted by Arianna C and played strong in the second with help from Erica P, Emma F scored the team's second goal but St Clair team pressed hard in the last few minutes of the second period to take a 1 goal advantage into the third. Our girls had a few good scoring chances in the third but we're not able to get the puck in the back of their net. Makayla B had some good saves and solid goaltending throughout the game.
On Sunday the team traveled to Stratford to play. Both teams were evenly match with the scoring going back and forth. As each team scored the other would answer right back. Emma F and Arianna C were our goal scorers with Erica P providing the assistance. Makayla B had another good game in net with a few key saves at the end of the third period to keep the game at a 2-2 draw.
The girls will finish out the regular season next weekend with games against East Lambton and a rematch with St Clair.
