Midgets Win WOAA Gregg Division
The Meteors won their final series Sunday night with a 6-1 win over Chatsworth.

Brett Adair struck first for Mitchell with a great unassisted effort spinning and sliding one home on his backhand. After Chatsworth answered back Devon Schinbein reclaimed the lead for Mitchell with an assist from Trevor Skinner. Cody Pauli added one more before the end of the frame with a great unassisted effort.
After a rough period with over 15 of the 78 minutes in penalties combined for both teams in the game, Devon Schinbein put home his second of the night with assists from Jordan Mabb and Josh Taylor. The Meteors headed to the rooms after the second period with a stable 4-1 lead.
Mitchell came out flying in the third. While on the power play, Luken Van Pelt ripped a shot from the point top corner over the flailing Chatsworth goalie’s glove, his first midget goal of the season. Joe McCarthy added one with four seconds left in the game on a great unassisted play. Dan Skinner played very solid in net with two shutout periods of play.
The Meteors had a great season overall with many ups and downs but a great conclusion. The coaching staff of Dave McCarthy, Tim Eickmeyer, Bruce Skinner and Manager Steve Davey, were excellent in guiding the team to a great 21-20-6 record. Veterans Joe McCarthy, Brett Adair, Josh Taylor, Trevor Skinner, Scott Herbert, Jordan Eggleton, Chris Bernard and Ben Davey will be leaving the team this year leaving a big gap for next year’s rookies to step in and take the Meteors back on another great playoff run.
