Meteors Knock off Hanover
The Meteors defeated the Hanover Falcons 3-1 in their playoffs with a great bounce back 3-0 win after a 5-3 loss the game prior.

After taking a commanding 2 games to none lead, the Meteors failed to sweep the Falcons in game 3. Brett Adair, Trevor Skinner and Devon Schinbein each scored with assists from Jared Sykes, Joe McCarthy and Luken Van Pelt. Mitchell scored a goal each period to maintain a steady offence but it wasn’t enough.
In game 4 the Meteors played not only one of their best games of the playoffs but possibly one of their best games of the season with a solid 3-0 win. The Meteors again scored one goal per period. Their first goal came late in the first with a great goal by Evan Chaffe set up by Josh Taylor and Cody Pauli. In the second Jordan Mabb put home a great unassisted beauty.  Owen Smith scored the last goal of the night with a great patient play out front set up by Mabb and Kevin Rops. Goalie Dan Skinner played phenomenal in net, earning his first shutout of the season.
Mitchell went back to regular season play Sunday as they have to make up a handful of games. The Meteors stomped all over Seaforth with a solid 5-2 win. Sam Skinner and Mabb had a goal and an assist each in the opening frame and Owen Smith added his second goal in the last two games with an assist from Jordan Eggleton. Cody Pauli added one late in the frame with an assist from Jacob Shuker to make it 4-1 Mitchell.
After Seaforth added another in the second Devon Schinbein put the fifth goal home for Mitchell in the third on a great unassisted effort. The game began to escalate quickly as things began to get ugly between Seaforth and the referees. After all was said and done, over 80 penalty minutes were accumulated between both teams, more than 50 of which were Seaforth’s.
The Meteors will head back into playoffs with a series against the Goderich Sailors. Mitchell’s schedule is tight with games Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.
