PeeWee Boys LL win 3 games straight in Playoffs
Mitchell Meteors Boys PeeWee LL have had a great start to the playoff season with 3 straight wins and a tie. The PeeWee boys dominated the game on February 16th in Mitchell facing the Minto Mad Dogs. Brent Smith in goal and great plays by both defense and forwards gave Mitchell the 4-0 shutout. Game 2 on February 20th had Mitchell taking to the road to challenge the Drayton Defenders. Mitchell again came home with the win, beating Drayton 4-1.

On February 22 the PeeWee LL boys headed off to Brussels for the third game of the playoffs; The Blyth-Brussels Crusaders just could not catch the Mitchell PeeWee LL boys and Mitchell takes the third win straight with a score of 8-1. Game #4 Mitchell Meteors and the Seaforth Stars faced off in Mitchell with an excited hard fought game ending in a 4-4 tie in overtime.

February 16th was the first game of the playoff season for the Mitchell Meteors Boys PeeWee LL team who had home team advantage against the Minto Mad Dogs. The game opened with a scoreless first period both teams chacing the puck up and down the ice. Mitchell broke the game open three minutes into the second period with Damon Kay assisted by Connor Louwagie coming in fast netting the first goal of the game. The last 5 minutes of the second period Mitchell dominated the plays sweeping the puck out of their end and keeping up the pressure against the Mad Dogs. A nice goal by Jake Walker assisted by Hayden Adair brought in Mitchell's second goal of the game. Cole Wilton controled a great pass from Anthony Beuerman sending in the Meteors third goal of the game. Less than two minutes into the third period Eric Dearing caught the corner sending in the final goal of the game.  Solid goal tending by Brent Smith along with great defensive and offensive plays gave Mitchell a 4-0 shutout game.  

February 20th the PeeWee Boys LL team braved the weather and headed to Drayton for game #2 of the playoff season. Mitchell Meteors were hustling up the ice keeping the puck out of their end. Jared Ramseyer assisted by Damon Kay notched in the first goal of the game against the Drayton Defenders . Ryker Vandenbroek assisted by Kay and Ramseyer ended the first period with Mitchell ahead 2-0. The second period Caleb Tweddle brings the puck out of the corner and with Hayden Adair assisting Tweddle lifts the puck in for Mitchell's third goal of the game. Eric Dearing sends in Mitchell's last goal with Ryker Vandenbroek taking the assist. Stevie Daum stopped a number of attempts on the net letting in only one goal early in the third period.  Mitchell takes the win with a final score of 4-1.
 
February 22nd the Mitchell PeeWee Boys LL team hit the road again to face the Blyth-Brussels Crusaders for game #3 of the playoffs.  It was a slow start to the game with both teams coasting through the first period. Caleb Tweddle assisted by Hayden Adair sent the puck over the goalie's shoulder late in the first period.  The second period both teams played fairly evenly with the Crusaders forcing the puck into the Meteors end and scoring half way through the period. Mitchell regained control as Jake Walker assisted by Tyler Roobroeck sent the puck to the back of the net. The third period Mitchell PeeWee LL broke the game wide open netting 6 goals. The forwards were on fire banking the puck off the boards and the Meteors defense kept their end clear. Ryker Vandenbroek started the third period take down with Roobroeck taking his second assist of the game. Eric Dearing followed close behind scoring on a breakaway. Caleb Tweddle after sending the puck deep into the corner makes his second goal of the game. The Crusaders just could not keep up with Mitchell in the third period and had only a couple of attempts on Brent Smith who played solid in net. Tyler Roobroeck was sure on his game scoring late in the third period, Eric Dearing taking the assist.  Mitchell was hustling right to the end of the third period with Jake Walker scoring his second goal of the game assisted by Jarred Ramseyer. Anthony Beuerman caps the night off with Mitchell's final goal.  Mitchell takes the win with a final score of 8-1.

February 23rd the Mitchell PeeWee Boys took to the home ice against the Seaforth Stars. The Stars hit the ice hot and fast in the first period. The Meteors struggled to keep the puck out of the home zone and Seaforth scored going in with the three Seafoth forwards making nice passes in front of the net. Mitchell PeeWee LL stayed strong and came back with Caleb Tweddle scoring after a scamble in front of the net with Damon Kay taking the assist. The Stars were not going to give up easily and were able to keep the puck in the home team zone for most of the second period.  Seaforth notched in two more goals making the score 3-1 for Seaforth. Seaforth's played an aggressive game and as a result racked up a number of penalties.  Mitchell kept the game clean and were able to regain their momentum with the defense clearing the puck out of the home team end. Caleb Tweddle netted his second goal of the game bringing Mitchell back into the game. Connor Louwagie assisted by Eric Dearing banked the puck off the boards and scored Mitchell's third goal with only 38 seconds remaining in the third period.  With Seaforth ahead by one goal Eric Dearing sends in the tying goal with only 19 seconds left on the clock. The game moved into 10 minutes of overtime with Mitchell's forwards and defense working together to keep the puck out of the Mitchell's end.zone.  Mitchell had a number of shots on net but the Seaforth goalie played well. Brent Smith worked hard in net and made some good saves keeping Mitchell in the game right to the end. The game ended with a 4-4 tie in overtime.
