TWO WEEKEND WINS
The McLaughlin Chrysler Jeep Novices had a good weekend posting two wins over the Ironmen Saturday, and Crusdaders on Sunday. In Wingham on Saturday to play the Ironmen,
the boys got on the board with 3:24 remaining in the first as Talbot Geiger bulged the twine from Dawson Dietz, the only goal of the period as the slow start progressed. 3:47 into the second period Dietz scored from Geiger then 2:28 later Jared Vosper scored from Zachary Houben , and Justin Morrison, then the flurry continued a 1:26 as Dietz scored again, then 1:09 later Luke Murray scored on a feed from Geiger and up 5-0 heading to the third period. Strong defensive play by all helped goaltender Kody Eisler posted the shutout . On Sunday night in Monkton against Blyth-Brussels Crusaders , the teams played a scoreless first period, and much of the second period, as goaltenders hooked up save for save, near the end of the period Vosper scored unassisted , to make it 1-0. Then early in the third the flood gates opened for the Meteors as the got stronger, and scored five times in just under four minutes , as Dietz, scored a natural hat trick , Vosper added his second, and Kale Murray one , and after the flurry Crusaders beat Eisler once and scored again with a minute remaining to make the final , 6-2 Mitchell . The boys will enjoy the week off , till they travel to Stratford to play Friday night at the historic Allman Arena , against the AA Novice Warriors.
