Kinsmen and Smitty score hat tricks in two games to lead series
Midget Meteors started the next series in Hanover Friday night with a 5-3 win.

Evan Chaffe scored the first goal early in the first with assists by Jordan Mabb and Devon Schinbein. Lodewyk Koert scored the second with help from Chaffe. Jesse Kinsmen netted the final three with set-ups from Sam Skinner, Ben Davey and Mabb.

Thursday’s re-scheduled game was played on Sunday night at home. The team fell behind 6-2 but battled back to go ahead in the third frame to lead 7-6. Hanover managed to tie it up half way through that period and overtime would leave the score at a tie 7-7. Goals for Mitchell scored by Kinsmen, Mabb, Owen Smith, Joe McCarthy and Evan Chaffe. Assists were provided by Mabb, McCarthy, Koert and Tyler Pauli. Stellar net-minding by Tyler Meinen in relief with solid defensive play by Jordan Eggleton and Sam Skinner made the difference in the latter part of the game.

The team won again on Monday night at home to lead the series with a score of 5-2. Owen Smith scored three in a row with help from Chaffe, Koert, Josh Taylor and Schinbein. Smith also had two assists on the night helping out Chaffe and Trevor Skinner who put in a zinger from the point. Shots were 39 to 19 in favour of Mitchell as the offensive line of Ross Gethke, Martin Van Bakel and Brett Adair were relentless.
